Subspecialty radiologist Dr. Jonathan Williams joins Suburban Imaging
Sep 08, 2014
Suburban Imaging is pleased to welcome Dr. Jonathan P. Williams to its North Group practice. Dr. Williams’ subspecialties in radiology include musculoskeletal imaging and breast imaging. He sees patients at Suburban Imaging – Coon Rapids and Maple Grove, performing image-guided bone and joint injections, and diagnostic procedures at The Breast Center of Suburban Imaging.
“My favorite part of being a radiologist is when an unexpected finding from an examination helps a patient and their provider get an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment,” Dr. Williams said. “My second favorite part of being a radiologist, specific to my practice, is seeing patients get relief from diagnostic and therapeutic image-guided musculoskeletal injections,” he said.
Dr. Williams grew up in Fargo, ND. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College in Cambridge, MA in 2001, and his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 2008. Dr. Williams’ medical internship was at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, WI, in 2009. He then moved to California where he completed the remainder of his radiology training at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto (diagnostic radiology residency in 2013 and musculoskeletal imaging fellowship in 2014).
“I decided to become a radiologist because I've always loved anatomy and its intricacies,” said Dr. Williams. “Secondly, I've always loved imaging and photography. It was a natural fit for me to combine my desire to help others – through medicine – and these interests. I enjoy working for Suburban Imaging because the patients are so kind and appreciative, and because the standard and quality of care is extremely high,” he said. “The radiologists and staff are well trained, upbeat, and the working environment is well-structured to promote a high level of medical care in an efficient and effective way,” he said.
In his spare time, Dr. Williams enjoys cycling and rock climbing. He lives in downtown Minneapolis with his wife, a psychiatrist who also practices in the Twin Cities.
