Colon Cancer Awareness: Preventable, Treatable, Beatable!
Mar 17, 2015
March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month and we want to share some important information with our followers:
Colon cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed cancers and the third most common cancer in the United States. Although it is the most common, it is also the most treatable. Screening tests can detect polyps and remove them before they become cancerous.
- 90% of colon cancer cases are preventable, treatable and beatable when diagnosed in early stages with screening tests.
- There are currently more than one million colon cancer survivors in the U.S. alone.
Suburban Imaging is an active partner in the fight against colon cancer. We offer virtual colonoscopy for patients who are unable to undergo a traditional colonoscopy or whose physician recommends it. Talk to your healthcare provider about which screening option is best for you.
