The American College of Radiology (ACR) has recognized Dr. Richard Thompson among its list of new Fellows in 2019. The fellowship is one of the most prestigious recognitions available to ACR members.

Fellowship symbolizes exceptional achievement in the fields of diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, radiation oncology, and/or medical physics. Only 10 percent of ACR members have been awarded this honor.

Dr. Thompson is a member of the Body and Oncology Imaging teams. He earned his MD at Mayo Medical school and completed his residency and fellowship at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.

ACR Fellowship is awarded to members of the College in good standing who have demonstrated service to ACR; evidenced significant accomplishments in scientific or clinical research in the field of radiology; made significant contributions to literature; and/or provided outstanding work as a teacher of radiology.
