Mary R. Maier, RN

Hometown:
I grew up in a small community in southern Iowa, ventured to western Minnesota in the mid 1980’s followed by a move to the Minneapolis area in 1988 and have remained since.

Personal interests:
I truly enjoy baking and gardening in my free time as well as taking care of my four-legged children, Baily and Zoey. Oh yes, my husband gets some attention too!

Why did you decide to become a nurse?
When I was in junior high, I had to write a paper on what I wanted to be when I grew up.  It was either become a nurse or a teacher. I chose a career in nursing and I find that I teach every day in my job so in essence, I get to do both!

What is your favorite part of being a nurse?
My favorite part of being a nurse is the fact I get to make a difference somewhere in the course of my day helping others. That makes my job meaningful.

Why do you enjoy working for Suburban Imaging?
I enjoy working at Suburban Imaging as I’m allowed to do a variety of nursing functions as well as work with very kind and knowledgeable colleagues.
